Så här monterar du en ny jewel:

Step 1 - Mix up some hot soapy water in a glass. Add the soap to the water last so it doesn't foam up on you. Use a teaspoon to put some of the warm water on top of your jewel, you want to have enough water on it that the edges of the jewel are completely surrounded with the warm water. You do not want to put so much water on there that you have it slopping all around on you (2 or 3 teaspoons max). Just a little will do the trick, see photo to the left. Now for the boring part. let it soak for about 30 minuets don't even bother to try taking it out until it has soaked.

Step 2 - Probably the most important step so pay attention and work slowly. Find yourself a small screwdriver or similar object. Do not use a knife! It might seem like a good idea but 99% of the time a knife will gouge the case or worse yet it might slip and you could hurt yourself in the process. We recommend a jewelers screwdriver, but any small screwdriver with a fine point will work. Cut off a piece of the cardboard that your package was shipped with, you will be using this to help protect your Xbox® case against scratching while you pry at the jewel. Take a look at the photo, notice we put the cardboard as close to the jewel as possible and then put the tip of your screwdriver into the tiny gap between the jewel and the rest of the black casing.

Step 3 - Start prying at the jewel. Nothing drastic here, your not trying to tear it out in one shot. Small little prys will work just fine and as the soapy water gets further under the jewel you will notice you can pry it up a little bit further each time. After a little bit of working at it you will have lifted the jewel up enough that you can either get a hold of it with your finger and pull it off, or slip the screwdriver underneath to pry it off. Just remember to keep the cardboard between the screwdriver and the rest of your case. Moving slowly and being patient is really the key here, rushing the job and scratching up the rest of your Xbox® defeats the purpose. Obviously the only way to get a new case is to buy a new Xbox® :(

Step 4 - Hopefully you got lucky like we did and most of the adhesive stayed on the back of your original jewel and not the black case. If it did stay on the casing you can pick it off with your fingernail pretty easily. You really don't need to get it 100% off anyhow (see next step)

Step 5 - There are 2 tiny risers on the case you need to look for. Make sure they are not covered with adhesive (they should not be but some older Xboxs had jewels put on them with a different sort of glue). If there is adhesive covering the risers be sure to pick it off with your finger. Try test fitting your new jewel to see that it sits on top of the risers flat and looks like it is supposed to.

Step 6 - Wipe up any excess water with a cloth or some paper towels. Make sure everything is nice and dry and that your replacement jewel fits well when you test fit it. Peel off one side of the double sided adhesive we provided and place it between the risers as shown in the picture. Rub it down with your finger to make sure it is sticking well to the case. Once your ready go ahead and peel the liner off the other side of the adhesive and place your jewel. Press the jewel down firmly for about 10 seconds and your all done.

Looks good, now we just need to wipe everything down one last time. As stated above, if you bought a Console Skin® for your Xbox® you really want to put the jewel in first. That way you don't need to worry about scuffing the skin up while you're taking the jewel out. Beleive us when we tell you its very easy to make a slip and put a nasty gouge in your new Console Skin®. We managed to do it with a chrome skin on, but then again we have done this mod about a thousand times so we're pretty good at it ;)
